The MOMS Club® of Evans is proud of its commitment to community service through its service projects, often completing 5 or more projects in a single year! These projects are a way to use part of the time we spend together, as friends, helping others.
Examples of past projects are:
Furthermore, our chapter also supports the official MOMS Club charity, the Mother-to-Mother Fund. The Mother-to-Mother fund, first created after the Los Angeles earthquakes in 1994, provides monetary assistance to MOMS Club members affected by tragedies ranging from natural disasters (such as Hurricane Katrina), personal emergencies (such as illness or injuries exceeding their medical coverage), and other disasters (such as the 2001 terrorist attacks).
The Mother-to-Mother fund is committed to helping their members quickly; many recipients after natural disasters report that the Mother-to-Mother fund was the first assistance they received, faster than all other governmental agencies and private charities. This outstanding charity gives grants to its recipients often totaling in the tens of thousands of dollars per year, and is supported by donations from the over 2,100 MOMS Club chapters in the US and abroad. The MOMS Club® of Evans is proud to be associated with such an organization, and plans fundraisers to benefit this fund.
Examples of past projects are:
- Cooking a meal for the local Ronald McDonald House
- Making cookies for the families staying at the Ronald McDonald House
- Collecting school supplies for underprivileged children
- Collecting pajamas for underprivileged children
- Supporting/Honoring First Responders (Fire Fighters) on Sept 11th
- Supporting the Mother-to-Mother Fund through an annual yard sale
- Organizing and Hosting our annual Preschool Fair, a free-to-the public event
- Supporting women going through cancer treatments through letter writing
- Baking cupcakes for special events at our local library and much more!
